About the Farmer

Hello, I’m Jillian, founder of One Wedding Farm. What began as a passion for hobby gardening in Texas—where I focused on companion planting and annual vegetables —brought me to New Jersey to grow something more lasting. In The Garden State, I discovered not only a cooler climate with exciting growing opportunities but also a vibrant community that shares a deep appreciation for nature and flourishing gardens. As a Rutgers Master Gardener, I’ve embraced the joy of learning, teaching, and giving back, turning a personal hobby into a business that serves families, local businesses, and our community.

Farm Growing Philosophy

One Wedding Farm is an organic, sustainable farm in North Central New Jersey. In a commitment to our shared environment, we use renewable inputs and avoid single-use plastics whenever possible. Our approach blends traditional gardening wisdom with thoughtful, modern practices:

  • Organic gardening with integrated pest management to protect pollinators and soil health

  • Conscientious water use through drip irrigation and mulching

  • Seasonal, locally grown flowers grown for long vase life and natural modern color palettes

  • A commitment to supporting our community by partnering with nearby florists, venues, and small businesses

Community Impact

Service is not an add-on; it’s part of how we operate. In addition to volunteer work as a Rutgers Master Gardener, I’m an active member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers. Our farm collaborates with local organizations to give back:

  • Food Pantry partnerships to provide fresh flowers and egg donations through Peapack Reformed Church

  • Ongoing education and outreach about sustainable gardening and local floriculture

  • 4-H parent participant

This focus on service grows naturally from a love of soil, seasons, and community. I’m grateful for the chance to share beauty, support neighbors, and contribute to a more sustainable local food and flower system.
